  • Bugaboo charges on a per-hour basis for services. Assessments are charged at a rate of $300/hour and treatment is charged at a rate of $150/hour.

    Credit card information is submitted at time of requesting the appointment and will be charged on date of service.

  • Bugaboo is an out-of-network provider. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement for services.

    To make the process easier for our clients, we partner with Reimbursify to help families submit superbills for reimbursement.

  • Bugaboo offers in-home services though out the San Diego area, including Mission Valley, North Park, Serra Mesa, Del Cerro, Fletcher Hills, Lemon Grove, Grossmont and El Cajon.

    Virtual services are available to clients located in the state of California.

  • Bugaboo is open weekdays between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Request an appointment time that works for you.

  • Bugaboo specializes in fun and effective treatment to cultivate your child’s natural communication style. By personalizing care and including you and your child in treatment planning, we ensure each session is focused on building everyday speech and language skills, resiliency, and personal connection.

  • Bugaboo does not offer behavioral therapy services.

    Many challenging behaviors arise from frustration and communication breakdown. Speech and language therapy can reduce tantrums and meltdowns by giving your child alternative ways to express themselves and helping them to better understand the world around them.

    Bugaboo does not engage in compliance based therapies. Research has shown that focusing on conformity and external rewards can often lead to masking and devaluing intrinsically motivating tasks.

  • We work with families young children and understand that illnesses and unforeseen conflicts happen.

    If your child is showing active signs of a potentially contagious infection, please let us know as soon as possible. We prioritize protecting the health of our clients as some are medically fragile.

    Sessions can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to session time without a fee. In-person sessions cancelled with less than 24 hour notice will be charged the full amount. Virtual sessions cancelled with less than 24 hour notice will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee.

  • Neurodivergence refers to differences in brain function and includes many populations including those with Autism and ADHD. Individuals with the most common brain functionality are “neurotypical” and those whose brains function differently from the majority are “neurodivergent.” Neurodivergent children often require different supports and learn in different ways from their peers but can also demonstrate unique strengths and gifts.

    The neurodiversity movement advocates for taking pride in neurodivergence, spreading awareness of ways to support neurodivergent people and providing resources them and their loved ones.
